John Gapper is business columnist and associate editor of the Financial Times. He is based in New York and has written for publications including New York magazine. He is co-author with Nick Denton, the founder of Gawker Media, of All That Glitters: The Fall of Barings (Portfolio) and his short ebook How to be a Rogue Trader (Portfolio) was published in December 2011. 
    John's debut novel A Fatal Debt, a mystery set among the gilded elite in New York and East Hampton, is published on June 26 by Random House in the US and in September by Duckworth in the UK.  He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Rosie Dastgir, and their two daughters.
